Admitting that you’re struggling and maybe feeling a little worse than ‘just down’ or ‘having a bad time’ is a very difficult thing to do, but its important to recognise the difference between being in a bad/sad mood and being constantly sad and down.

This is something I personally really struggled with as I noticed more and more that everyday I’d be waking up feeling down and going to bed feeling the same. I kept a lot of how I felt to myself as it was so out of the ordinary for me but more and more people began to notice my constantly sad state. At this point, my mum decided it would be best for me to see a doctor as she was unsure whether i was just hormonal or there was more to it.
